RACE RULES
1. The SBMF Open Race shall be governed by the race rules adopted by the
American Racing Pigeon Union and Buckeye Combine.
2. The use of Electronic Clocks is permitted for 2008. (Benzing, Unikon)****
3. Only SBMF band birds or Option birds designated by the race committee are
eligible to fly the SBMF Open Race.
4. Bands still cost only $8.00 each with the purchase of 10 bands or more you
shall receive 2 auction bands. Less than 10 receive 1. Max. 2 per flyer.
5. With the paid purchase of every 5 bands, the owner shall receive 2 Options.
10 bands paid, 4 Options, 15 bands paid, 6 Options, 20 bands paid,
8 Options, 25 bands paid 10 Options etc. etc…. no limit. Option bird(s) may
be used night of shipping with a $10.00 each activation fee.*****
6. All owners of 10 bands or more are eligible to handle OOA birds. ****
7. No handler allowed more than twenty-five (25) banded OOA birds.****
8. The SBMF Open Race shall be open to all Ohio club or combine members that
have a minimum distance of 245 miles, maximum distance of 375 miles from
Bowen’s Station # 5207, Cloverdale IN. **** Open to all Out of Area flyers.
9. The SBMF race shall be a one (1) day race. Closing of race to begin,
one (1) hour after sunset the day of release. Prizes not earned shall be
divided with the qualifying birds/ lofts. ****
10. OOA breeders must submit all band information and payment to the
Name and Address below, before the shipment of birds to handler.
11. OOA breeders may designate handler of choice or have their birds
distributed by race committee. Call for list of handlers.
12. Auction birds must be available for auction on 04-27-2008 to be eligible
for capital and auction prize’s. Check-in @ 1:00pm Auction @ 3:00pm
13. Birds placed for auction shall be no younger than 21 days old.
14. All auction bird bidding shall open at $25.00 with $5.00 increases.
15. The SBMF to retain 10%-15% of all income for expenses and services. ****
16. There shall be a $.50 cents per bird shipping charge. ****
17. The SBMF committee to release a clear and comprehensive financial report
to accompany official race result sheet.
18. The SBMF Race shall be shipped on 10-17-2008 and flown on 10-18-2007
weather permitting.
19. All decisions made by the race committee or chairman are final.
20. Band payment must be submitted by August 2, 2008
21. All auction and OOA prizes to be split 50/50 breeder/handler.
